Apps for Good - who gets your vote?

As many of you know, I’m incredibly passionate about supporting young people to thrive in life – everyone deserves the tools and opportunities to grow into head-strong, driven changemakers.

Thankfully, there are hundreds of organisations, groups and individuals also committed to building confidence and mentoring young people, providing invaluable experience and opportunities to succeed along their journey.

One organisation we’ve recently joined forces with is Apps for Good. Collaborating with our Virgin Red loyalty app, Apps for Good is asking young tech entrepreneurs to enter The People’s Choice Award to highlight their innovative products.

The award looks to recognise and celebrate young tech entrepreneurs who are creating technology products to transform their world – and with 600 schools already signed up to the free Apps for Good course, we should see some really exciting innovations. It’s really exciting to work alongside a not-for-profit that shares our goals around technology and entrepreneurship.

As I said, the Apps for Good course is already being delivered in 600 schools, which means around 25,000 students nationwide to date – that’s a lot of young people being provided with the tools to create solutions to better the world.

The award winners gain national recognition and mentoring and support from the charity and Virgin Red, to take their product further – you’ll also spend some time with me, showing me your winning product and bouncing development ideas around.

It’s a really great award and I can’t wait to see what amazing technologies the entrants share. Good luck!
